The product wasn’t organized well. The author used the alphabet to organize everything without quite getting to the point. Each chapter could have been summed up by bullet points or just made shorter by getting to the point. Much of the book is the author going on and on regarding his personal opinion and also constantly saying, “I’m not being racist or singling any group out I’m just staying thisâ€. The personal opinion parts come out every chapter so far. For example, the author says not to wear big bright logos because they draw attention which makes sense. But then he goes on and on about how he didn’t wear logos because he doesn’t believe in free advertising for companies that aren’t compensating him. I could argue that having logos can help hide you in certain backgrounds. Like if you go to a skater park it helps to be wearing a pair of puffy skate sneakers. I’m halfway through the book and I’m already bored because of the layout. I’m still waiting for the meat.
The entirety of this book comes down to three points. 1. Don't dress military 2. Don't act military. 3. Don't act like an entitled american in other countries.Otherwise it was so generic. I am not disputing the author's credentials here, but learning of real world situations, and actual events where gray man concepts saved lives or allowed escape would have been better. This was not worth the 90 minutes it took to read it.I was so excited to get this book... my disappointment in it is just as strong.
Don’t waste your money! The WORST author I have read in a long while! Stringing a half-dozen unrelated words together does not a sentence make. On each page I found myself scratching my head and asking WTH is THAT supposed to mean? Terrible!
You probably think you know everything about "gray man," and, honestly, nothing in this book will shock or surprise you. But I found many things I hadn't thought about--or hadn't planned out in such detail. So, yeah, you could read a 2-page article on the concept, or you could read this highly detailed book. Either way you'll get what you pay for. The book was worth it to me.
This is an awesome guide to being...inconspicuous. It'll have you replacing your attention-getting clothing and behaviors with less conspicuous things. It's a great beginning guide to avoiding the attentions of those who make their living preying on others.
Great primer, to the often misunderstood topic of the Gray Man. Major principles covered, especially in our "hustle and bustle" world and how not to be a victim, but melt into the scenery. It takes a decade to learn this in America's rough inner cities, but this book gives you a heads up, how not to be a victim.Good fast read
This is a great book for learning how to disappear in urban and quasi-urban environments where basic camo and/or tactical gear is too noticeable. Easy to read and informative, this is a great reference book for any shelf.
This book is an excellent resource to teach and remind us of the importance of being situationally aware -- of where are going and how we can best fit in without attracting the attention of locals who may be looking for criminal opportunities. The author combines case studies with informational advice. It is lot more than just wearing gray clothes all the time.
