I was nervous to buy an 'international' book for my grad class, but it was about $150 cheaper than the alternative so I went for it and I'm glad I did. The examples and problems are all the same as in the 'real' text book. One thing that is different is the chapter numbers- for some reason, there is one chapter missing from the international version that is included in the 'real' version. I had to buy the online version as well, so this wasn't an issue for me, but I wanted to mention it as it can be confusing for others. Because the book skips a chapter (it skips the real chapter 3), all of the other chapters are off by 1...so chapter three in this book is 'from chapter 4' of the other book, and so on. Each chapter identifies the chapter it is from in the original book, so just pay attention to that and you will be all set.Other than that- the pages are all black/white/grey, but that doesn't bother me, and the content is exactly the same. The book arrived super fast and in good condition. I've read reviews about people being upset that it didn't look 'brand new', but I honestly couldn't care less about that, so I'm not rating on that basis (although mine arrived in good condition).It is overall a great value. It is also excellent to have as a supplement to the online textbook (i HATE reading from online textbooks....)
I am a retired corporate Internal Audit Manager and had this book in college in the 1970's for a class. I now attend a local County Board in Lake County, FL. This is a recent, but not latest edition of the book I had by the same author in the 1970's. The local County government has no measurable metrics like a business would have, so I will present this book to the County Manager at the next public hearing. I am just amazed how bad management is in local government, and this may goad them into actually using some classic performance metrics like Horngren discussed FORTY years ago.
Book is complete and there are some highlighted key terms. The last person who had this book also wrote down key terms and formulas which is helpful.
This text represents my first formal exposure to Accounting. I found the text easy to read with clear explanation, and a comprehensive selection of example problems that have been solved to illustrate key points. Given the extensive number of chapters and revisions, the text is "complete" and well refined.My wish is that the text would have included answers to some of the extensive number of practice problems it provides.
Greatest insomnia preventative ever! Actually, a fairly well comprised book for a rather dry subject. The case studies are interesting and chapters are well composed and to the point. Each chapter includes plenty of test applications and questions to help you learn the material. I'm glad Amazon offers a book rental, as the list price was way more than I'd ever want to spend on a book like this.
I purchased this item as a requirement for a course. Although it was the previous edition than the course requirement, it was helpful in getting me most of the information that I needed for the course. The textbook looked almost new, which was better than I expected.
