I was so looking forward to this book but found it quite difficult to read. I think for people who know ballet well its easier to navigate, but there was so much I didn't understand, so many terms and techniques, it made it impossible for me to finish.Very well researched and well written though

I like the biogrophi and think the language is easy to read. I love my Kindle version. Now i know more of the ballett history.Hilde
Being an avid reader about dance, dancers and choreographers, I already had 4 bios of Nureyev. After planning a trip to the Berkshires, to visit Jacob's Pillow, Tanglewood and relax, I bought this book to take with me. I must warn potential readers that it is the size of a phone book, but I could not put it down. For the very first time, Nureyev was a living, breathing man. His dreams, his fears, his powers and his weaknesses were all revealed, explored and balanced. I looked forward to awakening each morning to read, feel and care about this incredible artist and the people who swirled around him. Brilliant! Ms. Kavanagh has created (for me) the ultimate look at a complex, conflicted and legendary man. I will seek out her other works and take those journeys with her. My only complaint: she uses many French phrases, which she does not translate. Looks great! Frustrates big time! Mon dieux!!
