The table of contents won't display in the left pane of the Kindle app as it should; it's simply inline with the text and you're forced to bookmark it and keep moving back to it instead of being able to reference it in it's own pane. It behaves the same on the Kindle app for the Mac OS and my iOS devices; I don't own a Kindle device.This lack of proper formatting is particularly problematic when browsing, as you can't have the TOC visible in the left pane at the same time as the pages you're scrolling through. This is a reference book, not a novel, so referencing the TOC and browsing to find a solution to a problem is the most common use for a book like this.Also, the book was written to cover only one computer platform (Windows) and never once mentions the available Quickbooks Online desktop app, which Intuit badgers Mac users into downloading and using in preference to a browser for some reason. A full third of the book is dedicated to professional accountants, a group that one would hope really wouldn't need a "for dummies" book - I expected this to be geared toward business owners, not CPAs. The lengthy chapter on how to use the Chrome browser seems a completely random addition, too. Wondering if the book needed to be of a certain minimum length and filler content was just appended to meet the spec.The book also explains the assumed pre-existing knowledge base of the reader, then completely undershoots that bar and wastes all sorts of space explaining things that we already know, and not explaining the actual processes that I bought the book in hopes of learning. Then it goes on to explain at length things that an average user doesn't need or want to know.
I think I have 6 books on Quickbooks online that I have purchased including just plain quickbooks ones by Dummies. However in this one the rubber really hits the road and it has answered nearly every question and given me ways to fix misunderstood errors. By all means invest!
As a beginner this book was useless to me. It assumed there was so much already known about Quickbooks. The second half is information FOR accountants, and then a whole chapter is using Chrome as your web browser. What is happening? I wanted to learn how to use classes, lists, and how Paypal works with QB...Paypal isn't even mentioned.
Its difficult to follow
Printing is awful, can't read. Faint and really tiny in places. Not like any other dummies book I ever bought. Cannot use because format is awful. I need to find something and simply not there.
Doesn't really teach you anything! Kinda tells you things you need to know, but doesn't tell you how to do them. Boooooo!
Really did not help much more than asking husband for help.
I guess I'm dumber than I thought. It confused me a bit. Some of it was very easy to follow, some not so much.
